December News 2011

Christmas Greetings !

Jesus is the reason for the season! this was a church advertising slogan a few years ago, reminding people that Christmas is not just about parties and presents and too much food and drink, but about God’s present to us – his Son, born as a baby in Bethlehem, born to be our Saviour.

Jesus came into our world as a frail human baby, to share our humanity and be ‘God with us’; to grow and live and know what it is like to be human in our troubled world; to shine God’s light and to show his power as the Son, the Word, the Messiah – who was ‘with God at the beginning of all things and without whom nothing was made that was made’.

Jesus came to bring us forgiveness for the mess and muddle that we so often make of our lives and to give the hope of a fresh start and a new life to anyone who will receive him.
